In southwest Sicily lies a big lagoon, the largest in all of Southern Italy. It’s idyllic—a lush and vibrant natural reserve, with white salt pyramids, windmills, and small islands dotting the surface.
The appeal goes beyond looks for Pietro Russo, Gabriele Gorelli, and Andrea Lonardi. The three Italian Masters of Wine are in the process of revitalizing the land, and reviving its ancient winemaking history.
Salt West, their shared manifesto for classy and salty Grillo-based wines, is part history lesson, part sustainability initiative, and part love letter to the local community.
